Gardens
My passion and love for gardening was fostered by my Grandmother who taught me the art if pruning roses at an early age. Gardens are a place to find solace and nourish our souls. Gardens are forever evolving, I love creating beautiful garden rooms for my clients to enjoy.
Mosman Park Garden
The Mosman Park Garden is my own garden. It has been evolving over the last twenty years and has become the platform for trial and error in companion planting and experimenting with species in our sandy coastal soil. The garden leans towards Mediterranean with underplanting’s of Lavender, Rosemary, Sage and Thyme. In designing this garden I had varying levels to navigate. So layering of Viburnum, Buxus and Hawthorn hedging in curved and straight lines created a frozen stage for the dancing iris , roses and agapanthus, in the westerly wind. The cloud olives give some respite to the garden during strong winter storms.
Margaret River Project
This client had a clear vision of how she wanted her garden to look. A plan was devised for the planting scheme of the trees and hedging plants selected. My expertise was really only required in the selection of the Plane and Pear trees at the tree farm plus recommending a variety of hedging plants suitable for the this new country garden.
Mt Claremont Bush Garden
This was a delightful established garden set in a bushland environment yet in suburbia. The brief was to replace some of the tired, older plants with ones that would be water-wise and thrive in Perth's hot summer months. A variety of natives and formal plants were added to the garden to create a more complex layered effect. I have continued to visit and maintain this garden over the years.
Mt Barker Project
It is always such a delight to work in an old established garden. The brief for this garden was to supply plants to enhance the existing garden, creating green fencing where required. Hedging plants were selected for around the homestead. Pine trees were planted in the long paddock creating a visual line drawing the eye down towards the family chapel at the bottom of the hill.
